We are proud to host the CNU Equestrian Riding Team.
We have two different types of teams for the school.
Each will be highly competitive in their environments and
will develop the high standard of equitation skills required
at each level. Each rider will benefit by the
instruction of all our staff at Stonehouse Stables.
IHSA:
The team is made up of
a maximum of 25 students per semester. Each student will ride
once a week from August to May. The team has preset lessons
each week. These times are set prior to the beginning of the
semester so that Students may arrange class schedules around their
riding times. Each member must pay a fee to the CNU Equestrain
Riding Team each semester. Jamie Brabon is our coach
representative at each of the shows under the guidance of Tara Best,
our head instructor at Stonehouse Stables.
Local Show Team:
This is a
group of riders who have been selected to make the transition from
lessons to the show ring. It is one thing to ride a horse
provided to you by the schools you attend, but another to work with
an individual horse to find optimum performance time after time.
Our goal for the show team is to help provide this opportunity for
those who desire to build upon the experience for perfection.
Each student is expected to take an additional lesson once a week in
the form of a half hour private. The student will attend 6
shows during the school year both at home and away shows.
Students pay individually for lessons and shows. Tara Best and
Jamie Brabon will guide each student through the shows
