Abigail, Jack, and Digby Shine at VHSA Associate Finals!

The VHSA Associate Program State Finals held at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, Virginia, from November 9th to 13th, provided the venue for a stellar performance by Stonehouse Stables’ own rider, Abigail Best.  Competing with her pony In My Pocket as well as her horse Out of the Box, Abigail reined in championships in Large Pony Hunter as well as Pleasure Pony.  In addition, she won Equitation on the Flat (15-17) and placed well in Children’s Hunter, on Jack (Out of the Box).  In My Pocket won the David Dye Trophy as the Large Pony Hunter Champion, as well as the Cookie Monster Trophy as Grand Champion Pony Hunter.  Abigail was also named “Best Child Rider on a Pony” and was awarded the Heidi McClure Memorial Perpetual Trophy.

Coached by Tara Best, owner of Stonehouse Stables, and assistant coaches Jessica Craig and Karen Hogue, the team took 11 horses and 10 riders to this competition.  Also attending and winning ribbons were Stacey Schneider, Allie Marcotte, Aly Haynes-Traver, Kim Zeuli, Savannah Shultz, Lu Ann Homza, and Vicky Harder.
